Nowadays Government wants to make cities smart in the path of Modi. But do you know how much Geo-spatial technology will contribute to making your smart city? Every area ranging from urban administration and unmanned aerial vehicle technology to missile, e-governance and even advertising and marketing today depend on Geo-spatial data. Most of the countries in the world have started specializing in Geographical Information System (GIS) after understanding its future impact. It is a key emerging and evolving industry in the 21st century that offers an excellent career avenue with immense potential and many as-yet undiscovered opportunities like in spatial data visualization, spatial Intelligence, augmented reality in Geo-space and conservation of the earth data.
I had a wonderful experience last month as GIS Technology intern at Transerve Technologies in Goa. When I got selected I was very happy as company was best in GIS application and moreover location happened to be Goa – a place where everyone wants to go and I would be going for 2 months and fully paid 😀 .
Here I will take you through various phases of me in Goa as wanderlust, love guru and yeah as intern too 😛
Firstly I want to share some Goa pics and a video captured during monsoon season – free of crowd, full of greenery, easy bargains and where you can easily drench in unexpected shower.
What is a Map ?
Map is not just a piece of paper. It is a symbolic depiction highlighting relationships between elements of space – it can be you,me or distant star on the space map.
As we know our Universe is big, so is the data. That is why Spatially-enabled big data on a map has the power to allow you to answer questions and ask new ones like ‘ Where are disease outbreaks occurring?’, ‘Where is insurance risk greatest given recently updated population shifts’ ? and much more.
As map is link to various sector of society like defence, spread of disease, wildlife conservation, disaster alerts, economics etc. So now come the responsibility to use the map fully with big data.
